Today we move into our new apartment in our new town and state of Hiawatha, Iowa. This past week has been surreal and the wildness of it continues to seem like a dream.

A week ago I was still packing our worldly goods into boxes and looking forward to seeing many of my friends at church in the evening. Now, a mere 1,000 miles and seven days later, we’re moving into a completely different life! 😲

We’ve been “homeless” for 2.5 days, although honestly it has felt more like being on the biggest vacation trip of our lives. We packed up everything we own and then proceeded to travel EAST of all places, spending the nights in hotels like we’ve done dozens of times before.

It’s hard to believe that three days ago moving pros and our friends were helping to gather all our stuff into boxes, loading a 15’ truck, and cleaning our apartment in Colorado and today we’re going to have more moving pros take everything out of the truck in Iowa into a new home we’ve never seen before.

It still feels like we’re here on an extended vacation and will go back to the familiar sights of Craig Colorado.  Like I said earlier, everything is very surreal!

Here’s what I do know. God is in control and continues to hold us in the palm of His hand, just like He has always done. We have been blessed beyond measure by the grace and love He has given us all our lives. Wherever we go, God is there first! Nothing else ultimately matters in this big, wide world. All things will pass away and our true home is one simple, huge move away to heaven.  We won’t have to pack or remember where we put our medications. We won’t have to worry about what we take with us and what we give or throw away. Jesus will say, “Come.” We’ll follow Him and that will be it.  I won’t give a second thought to my favorite rocks, knickknacks, or jewelry. I’ll simply follow Jesus to the other side of the veil and live with Him forever. Amazing! Miraculous! Peace and joy forevermore!

Before that day, though, we will unload all our worldly goods into our new home in Hiawatha, IA and see what God has planned for us here. The dogs are more than ready to be reunited with their beloved sofa. WE are ready to be reunited with our beloved bed!  😂

I love you all like crazy, but God loves you more! I’ll see you soon!
